I was the recipient of the University of Chicago Outstanding Educator of the Year Award, as a direct result of my efforts serving as the Director of College Counseling at an elite private school in Atlanta, GA. While serving as the Director of College Counseling, I traveled extensively to colleges and universities across the country, building a strong network with admissions professionals at top institutions in the country, and learning the intricacies of the selective admissions process. I helped my students find their “best fit” institutions and craft college lists that were entirely unique to who they were as individuals and best reflected their future aspirations. Students who worked with me were accepted to schools like Stanford, Haverford, Wake Forest, Vanderbilt, Pepperdine, University of Southern California, Davidson, Harvard, Dartmouth, University of Virginia, and Caltech, to name a few.
When a family move forced me to leave my role in Atlanta, I had the unique opportunity to review applications as a part of Rice University admissions. I worked alongside the Undergraduate Admissions Office at Rice, reading files, critiquing essays, and ultimately, serving as a member of the selection committee.
In my free time, I’m a mom of two (adorable) boys and wife to a Vice President of Enrollment (admissions is our family passion!). I also find myself documenting life behind a lens, serving as an occasional wedding and lifestyle photographer. Though I currently live in the Midwest, I am originally from NYC and Atlanta, GA.
