I am a Former Admissions Officer from Duke University and a Former Student Services Manager at the University of North Carolina. I have counseled high school students on the college application process for the past 14 years! (Think before internet!) My passion is with the students and their success.
Access to higher education and professional advancement for ALL youth is my source of energy and drive. I live under the assumption that all youth can and should be as successful as they choose, whether it is in a classroom, on a stage, or at a job.
My work with high school students begins with finding the perfect college fit. I have extensive experience in personal statement editing and brainstorming, resume writing, and interview prep.
I have been fortunate to cultivate strong nationwide connections with undergraduate admissions offices during my extensive travel. I visited over 70 undergraduate campuses that included individual visits with undergraduate admissions offices, career services and faculty. I have a strong pulse on the application cycle of undergraduate admission offices.
I take great pride in allowing the student to take ownership and accountability for his/her college application decisions by identifying the needs – academic, social and environmental – of each student. My heart has always been and remains with the student during the application cycle.
I spend my free time with my family. I love running and going to the beach.
