After graduating from Swarthmore College, I came on staff as an Admissions Counselor for several years, reading and evaluating thousands of applications, and traveling with other highly selective institutions to talk to perspective students about what colleges look for. More than anything else, I love helping students find their own voice and perspective as they apply to colleges.
Having gone through the rigorous IB program in high school, I am particularly familiar with the challenges students in the IB system face and how it is viewed by US colleges. I have also worked with many students in schools that offer AP courses and have helped students from all different backgrounds find their voice in their essays. My students have gone on to attend Stanford, Reed College, Dartmouth, Yale, and many other top US institutions.
The college application process isn’t just a task, but an opportunity to discover and reflect on who you are and why certain things are important to you! I feel immense joy every time I help someone gain admission not just to an excellent school, but to the one that will transform them into the person they hope to be.
In my free time, I love cooking with my wife, reading graphic novels, and playing ultimate frisbee. This year, I’ve been doing a lot of work with a local farm; we’re getting chickens this summer, and I can’t wait!
