Director of Curriculum Development

Location: New Haven, CT

 

Job Description:

The Director of Curriculum Development position is for people who have a true passion for education and a deep interest in serving and educating people with diverse cultural backgrounds.  The Director will report to the company’s Chief Education Officer. The major job duties and responsibilities include the following:

  • Curriculum and Program Development:
    • Design and develop new curriculum and programs
    • Project management
  • Employee Management:
    • Manage existing counselors as they navigate the curriculum and ensure that all counseling staff are appropriately utilizing the curriculum so that we provide consistent support to students and families
    • Manage our team of Academic Mentors, Faculty Advisors, Writing Instructors, and Assistant Directors of Programs
    • Provide additional training for counselors and mentors
  • Marketing Efforts:
    • Assist with marketing efforts by designing and running essay workshops
    • Travel internationally biannually for workshops
  • Direct Student Work:
    • Serve as a “Graduate Coach” by working directly with challenging students and special cases

 

 

Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Ideal candidates should also have:

  • Experience developing curriculum for high school or college-level students
  • Direct experience teaching or mentoring
  • Management experience within the education or study abroad industry
  • Experiences training, mentoring, and giving feedback to teachers
  • A Bachelor’s degree (English or Education major is preferred)
  • A Master’s degree (preferred)
  • A passion for education and student success
  • Great communication and writing skills
  • Strong organization skills, a keen attention to detail, and a hard work ethic
