Scholar Launch Assistant Director of Marketing and Business Development

Responsibilities: 

This is a position for someone eager to gain valuable experience in business development, marketing, and entrepreneurship at a fast-growing startup. He/she will report to the President/CEO directly and help manage the company’s social media accounts, create content, develop brand awareness, generate inbound traffic, cultivate leads and sales, and implement online marketing campaigns. He/she will also assist in developing and managing corporate partnerships and relationships. 

As one of the earliest full-time employees in the company, this person will play an invaluable role in shaping the future of the organization, and will be given tons of opportunities to learn, expand, and grow their role. 

Location: North America (East Coast), flexible. New York preferred. 

Qualifications: 

  • Can speak and write English proficiently. 
  • Can speak and write Chinese fluently. 
  • Has at least 2-year experience in marketing, business development and/or sales.
  • Has experience with WeChat marketing 
  • Must be a talented and experienced public speaker 
  • Must have advanced communication and negotiation skills to form partnerships and push sales. 
  • Worked in private education industry previously 
  • Must be a hard worker and willing to go above and beyond. 
  • Must be outgoing, creative, diligent, responsive and self-motivated.
  • Graphic design skill/experience is a plus. 

Job Responsibilities: 

  • Develop strategies and tactics to promote our company and drive qualified leads to our front door. 
  • Deploy successful full cycle marketing campaigns (start to finish). 
  • Give in-house and partner presentations to generate leads. 
  • Research, experiment with, and establish a variety of marketing channels and partners to allocate/invest marketing budget funds wisely. 
  • Supervise marketing staff to produce valuable and engaging contents for our social platforms (e.g. website, WeChat public account, and Ximalaya).
  • Build strategic partnerships with key industry players. 
  • Identify and establish new business opportunities and partners. 
  • Measure and report performance of marketing campaigns, gain insight, and assess against goals 
  • Conduct direct sales with leads and achieve established direct sales goals.
  • Assist with drafting sales brochures, sales pitches, presentations, reference material, and other documents as required. 
  • Research and attend industry events - expos, networking events, etc.
