Senior Counselor: Secondary School Graduate Coach

Job Description:

We are looking for Graduate Coaches who will be part of our Senior Counselor team. Graduate Coaches work directly with aspiring secondary school students, helping them with applications and extracurricular profiles. The opportunity for growth in this position will be determined by the counselor’s individual strengths and weaknesses. The role is for people who have true passion in education and deep interest in interacting with, serving for, and educating people with diverse cultural backgrounds. The major job duties and responsibilities include the following:

  • 1-on-1 counseling with students aged 14-17 to build their extra-curricular profiles and applications
    • Meet remotely and in person with students
    • Edit essays and provide feedback to foster students’ independent writing skills
    • Provide comprehensive support to students as they prepare their applications
    • Generate creative trajectories and projects for students’ extracurricular development
    • Collaborate with a team of up to three counselors to support each student’s progress
  • Manage students' progress in different programs related to personal development and college admissions;
  • Serve as the bridge between family and counselors, keep parents updated about the progress and deliver parent education; help troubleshoot families’ questions and concerns;
  • Design curriculum related to academic planning and application


To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Ideal candidates should also have:

  • Native fluency in Mandarin OR Korean
  • Bachelor’s degree, English or Education major is preferred
  • You have good English and communication skills
  • Extremely detail oriented and diligent
  • Respect deadlines
  • You’re proactive, trustworthy and have an impeccable work ethic
  • Previous experience or knowledge of US secondary school applications and/or college application is a plus
