Alex Rule is a Graduate Coach with Ingenius Prep based in Washington, DC. He graduated magna cum laude with distinction from Amherst College with a BA in Spanish and Music. His undergraduate studies culminated in a Spanish-language honors thesis examining the role of music in culture among indigenous pueblos in South Chile.
During his third year of college, Alex spent five months studying abroad in Santiago, Chile. There, he immersed himself in a Spanish-speaking environment with a host family and took classes in translation, linguistics, and music at the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile.
Throughout his academic career, Alex demonstrated a strong aptitude for writing and research, producing numerous essays across a variety of disciplines in both English and Spanish. This experience positions him to offer valuable guidance to students in both languages throughout the college admissions process.
In his professional life in DC, Alex has contributed to the Department of Justice’s Criminal Division in several roles. He began as an administrative assistant in the Criminal Division Front Office, providing support to high-level government executives with managing their daily operations. He later transitioned to a role in the Justice Department’s Public Affairs Office, where he managed the routing and publication of all Criminal Division press materials.
His experience in this demanding professional setting has equipped Alex with refined organizational and communications skills, which he now brings to the college admissions process. He is adept at helping students effectively manage competing schedules and deadlines while maintaining high-quality written materials.
As a Graduate Coach, Alex is skilled in crafting compelling college application packages that effectively convey a student’s intellectual passions and demonstrate their strong candidacy for their desired programs.
