I first earned my bachelor’s degree in Computer Science at Yale, then went on to pursue my master’s in Computer Science at the University of Waterloo. After this, I received a professional master’s in Health Informatics from the University of Toronto. My interests lie at the intersection of information technology and healthcare. I’ve undertaken research and development on a number of software systems, including assistive technology to help people communicate. I’ve worked at hospitals, in independent consulting, and on service projects, domestically and abroad.
Through Yale’s network of alumni, I’ve been a member and chair of board nominating committees, and a college interviewer. I’ve also been a leader of community service events in Canada, and on public health service projects in underserved villages of Africa and South America. These activities appealed to me because I’d be able to help provide others with opportunities that hadn’t been available to myself, such as being able to locally interview for college.
All in all, life’s taken me across the globe to five continents, and counting.
