Hello! I am an MBA Graduate Coach with InGenius Prep, living in Washington, DC. I graduated from the Yale School of Management’s MBA in 2019. I received my Bachelor of Arts degree from DePauw University in 2011, majoring in Conflict Studies.
At DePauw, I was a Dean’s List member every year. I was also a Media Fellow, Information Technology fellow, editor-in-chief of The DePauw – Indiana’s Student Newspaper of the Year.
Following graduation in 2011, I worked as a journalist and communications professional for NPR (National Public Radio) and World Resources Institute (WRI) for 5 years before deciding to pursue my master’s in business administration. My exhaustive search lasted for two years, from 2015 – 2017, from the beginning of my first GMAT prep course to my enrollment in the Yale School of Management’s Executive MBA Program. I completed my full-time, two-year MBA by commuting to New Haven every two weeks while working full-time as a Program Manager at WRI in Washington, DC. I was elected one of three Class Representatives in Student Leadership.
I am privileged to have the opportunity to pass along my lessons from the MBA search process and business curriculum to MBA program applicants. An MBA is a profound personal, academic, and financial commitment and a major life milestone. I am passionate about coaching applicants through that journey from beginning to end. I know everyone can find a program that is a phenomenal fit for their background and aspirations if they commit to the process and make a concerted effort in the right directions.
I will also be building upon my experience co-founding a Mentorship Program at WRI for incoming interns every summer. The program connected interns to each other and to full-time staff to create a structured introduction, build a supportive community, and enhance their professional experiences. I can’t wait to link all those experiences together into an individualized experience for each InGenius Prep student.
Outside my work, I have a handful of hobbies. I have played violin and viola since age 4 and am now a regular violist for a community philharmonic orchestra supporting the National Institutes of Health in Maryland. I play tennis, try to run at least once a week, am a voracious reader, and always wish I could play more ping pong than I do. I do my best to ski at least once a year and try to find hikes and other outdoor adventures for off-season trips.
