Ashley Leung is a Graduate Coach with InGenius Prep based in California, where she studied English and Education Studies at UCLA and was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa. Ashley is pursuing a master’s degree in English at UCI. After graduating from UCLA, Ashley served as an English instructor in Japan for one year. The plethora of linguistic and cultural exchanges developed her empathetic approach to relationship-building with students. As a bilingual speaker of English and Mandarin Chinese, she also understands the blessings and woes of studying multiple languages. The joy of connecting with students in and out of classrooms solidified Ashley’s interest in helping individuals thrive in academic settings. Ashley has won awards for her writing and research, as well as her Honors Thesis at UCLA, which she presented at Johns Hopkins’ Richard Macksey Undergraduate Humanities Symposium. She was also the recipient of the Undergraduate Research Fellows Program (URFP) Scholarship.
Ashley has 3+ years of experience teaching students of all ages (K – adult). In addition to teaching English and math subjects to high school students, she has also counseled undergraduate and graduate school applicants for several years. Within her strong skillset, Ashley specializes in essay editing and portfolio building. Her students have applied to a variety of programs, from engineering programs to MBAs, with excellent results. At InGenius Prep, she enjoys getting to know each of her students and focuses on developing a plan according to their individual needs and goals.
