Hello! I am a Graduate Coach with InGenius Prep, based in Atlanta, Georgia. I received my undergraduate degree from University of Miami where I majored in Sports Medicine on the pre-medical track. I am currently enrolled in the masters of public health program at Rollins School of Public Health at Emory University where I am a 2nd year behavioral sciences and health education graduate student, and I will be graduating in May 2022. My ultimate goal is to pursue my doctor of medicine in which I will be able to incorporate my public health skills into medical practice.
During my time at Rollins, I was able to gain a lot of professional experience in the field of public health. I am currently a working with the CDC for the Healthy Aging Branch where I am working with the National Healthy Brain Initiative and BOLD programs to integrate cognitive decline, Alzheimer’s, and dementia caregiving into public health practice. I have also served as a clinical associate with Community Advanced Practice Nurses in which I was able to work with underserved populations in Atlanta, GA to provide free, quality healthcare, increase health education, and promote health advocacy. I have also been a part of various research projects with Emory School of Medicine to eliminate health disparities in minority and underserved populations to improve health and overall well-being in these communities. I am honored to have had the opportunity to have these work experiences because they have allowed me to make a difference in the world by improving health equity and population health, fulfilling my purpose in life to be a humanitarian. My passion to advance the public health agenda has also pushed me to want to help other young students progress in this field. Therefore, I am dedicated to helping students pursue a higher education in public health, so they can learn more about the field and pursue a career in it.
Outside of work I am a major foodie. I love to try various restaurants all across the United States, and I plan on starting a food blog soon. I also enjoy amusement and nature parks and love a good read every now and then. I also like to occasionally dabble in arts and crafts as a method of therapy.
