Emrys Kaya (they/them) is a Career Counselor and experienced banking strategist working with with InGenius Prep to bring aspiring finance professionals closer to reaching their goals. Emrys is based in New York City, where they work at the global headquarters of Goldman Sachs in the Investment Banking Division.
Originally from Chicago, Emrys received their MS in Applied Statistics and a BS in Mathematics from Loyola University Chicago. In graduate school, they worked as a research and development analyst at Nielsen, an experience that gave them an insider’s perspective on building a profitable business model.
At Goldman Sachs, Emrys works on analytics across products and sectors in the Equity Capital Markets group. They have prepared reports and presentations for global heads of business units, partners of the firm, and even for the CEO, David Solomon’s office. In their time at Goldman Sachs, Emrys had the chance to work with some of the smartest people in the industry and get exposure to teams of highly successful bankers, asset managers, salespeople, traders, and quants.
At InGenius Prep, Emrys works as a Career Counselor and shares their experiences to help bring students closer to landing their dream jobs. Their approach to career counseling is taking the long view and helping a candidate build a holistic profile that allows them to showcase the best of what they have to offer. Emrys believes there’s not a single approach that fits all but a best fit for each individual that plays to their strengths. They excel at providing thorough support, from in-depth resume feedback to strategizing career search plans.
