Evan Rutter is a Former Admission Officer with InGenius Prep, currently based in Claremont, California. Evan grew up in Eugene, Oregon, before attending Claremont McKenna College (CMC) where he received his bachelor’s degree in Philosophy, Politics, and Economics, an Oxford University-style seminar and tutorial major. Evan has nearly 17 years of experience in higher education, in both admission and college advancement, where he has honed strategic profile development skills and perfected interview preparation.
Evan began his admission career as a work-study student in CMC’s Office of Admission. After graduating, he continued demystifying the college application process and helping students find the right fit by joining the office full-time. There he served as a passionate advocate for students in the regions he read for and traveled to, including Oregon, New York, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Connecticut, Texas, and beyond. He also led the alumni interviewer and senior interviewer programs, yield activities, counselor fly-in program, and crafted the college’s marketing pieces. While at CMC, Evan worked closely with Questbridge, Prep For Prep, TEAK Fellowship, and Yes Prep.
Evan is committed to making the college admission process as streamlined and straightforward as possible with all of his InGenius Prep scholars. He specializes in strategic profile development, in-depth essay feedback, expert interview preparation, and rigorous reviews of application materials. Evan looks forward to getting to know students through their college search process, and works to support them as they find the college that is the best fit for them.
