After graduating from high school in the northern suburbs of Chicago, I attended the University of Virginia, where I earned degrees in Cognitive Science and Economics with Distinction. I additionally completed all degree requirements for a B.A. in Psychology, with concentrations in neuroscience and cognitive psychology. While at UVA, I was a member of the Echols Scholars program and was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa.
Following my university days, I strongly considered joining the admissions committee at UVA so I could recruit students who would enjoy the university as much as I did. Ultimately, I instead pursued an eclectic mix of professions. Along with my own entrepreneurial efforts, I was a strategy consultant in Chicago, an academic editor, and a directional drilling engineer on oil rigs throughout the Southwest. My wide range of experience is often useful in guiding students through various aspects of program selection and the application process in general.
Most recently, I earned a J.D. from Yale Law School, where I assisted clients as a member of the Veterans Legal Services and Nonprofit Organizations Clinics. During law school, I also worked at private firms in Houston and Chicago, as well as on the United States Senate Committee on the Judiciary. I am also a member of the State Bar of Texas.
