Karen Kerr is a Former Admissions Officer with InGenius Prep based in Miami, Florida. Karen worked in higher education, focusing on admissions, for over 27 years. Throughout her career, she held roles in the Admissions Offices at the University of Michigan and the University of Miami. Having read over 12,000 applications, conducted countless interviews, and managed an admissions committee, Karen is uniquely equipped to assist students in their pursuit of higher education.
Prior to embarking on her career in admissions, Karen earned her BA in Music from Indiana University, followed by a Master’s in Liberal Arts from the University of Miami. Karen also holds a Certificate in College Counseling from the University of California San Diego.
Karen believes that the college search and application process is all about finding the right fit for each individual applicant. At InGenius Prep, she focuses on approaching the process from this mindset, allowing students to really hone in on what is important to them. Karen thrives when guiding students through extracurricular enhancement and when strategizing for the application process.
