Kate MacCary is a Graduate Coach with InGenius Prep based in New York. Kate earned her BA in the History of Art and Architecture from Middlebury College, where she graduated with departmental high honors for her thesis and academic achievements. Kate was also part of the Women’s Cross Country and Track and Field teams, and served on the Student Athlete Advisory Committee.
Kate’s BA was followed by an MA in Digital Art History from Duke University, where she graduated with a top GPA and was the recipient of a research funding fellowship. This fellowship allowed Kate to work with faculty, graduate students, and undergraduates in a lab focused on visualizing urban history. Kate also served as an alumni admissions interviewer, getting to interact directly with many prospective candidates and further expanding on her knowledge of the admissions landscape.
Outside of her experience in education consulting, Kate has worked for non-profits, a litigation-focused law firm, a local newspaper as a writer, and as a Teaching Assistant. At InGenius Prep, Kate enjoys instilling efficient work habits, time management skills, and a positive mindset in students. Her firsthand experience in the admissions field provides her with a unique point of view which she uses to help students reach their academic goals. Kate is equipped with industry-proven writing and editing skills, along with a strong understanding of the competitive nature of admissions at highly selective colleges.
