Maria Castro is a Graduate Coach with InGenius Prep based in Chicago, IL. Maria graduated with honors from Dartmouth College, majoring in Economics with a minor in Latin American and Caribbean Studies. Since her graduation, Maria has worked in professional roles as a research assistant, coordinator for community development, and tutor for the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago and Dartmouth College, respectively. Maria’s studies extended globally, with enriching experiences at Oxford University and the University of Barcelona, and with her academic achievements and diverse educational backgrounds, Maria is prepared to provide students with insightful, well-rounded guidance throughout their college admissions.
During her time at Dartmouth, Maria engaged in her community and guided students throughout their studies. As a tutor and intern at the Academic Skills Center, she helped students enhance their academic performance and oversaw multiple tutoring programs. As Co-Director of CoFired, she worked to advance the rights of undocumented and immigrant students, raising significant funds and facilitating ally training. Since then, Maria has worked as a Research Assistant for the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago in the Community Development and Policy Studies department, where she works with data and conducts outreach to promote economic growth and financial resilience for low- and moderate-income communities.
As a Graduate Coach, Maria has a comprehensive approach to guiding students, combining her data analysis skills and her passions for helping others to help students create profile that are academically stellar and personally compelling. Maria is committed to helping students identify their strengths, navigate their academic journeys, and achieve their aspirations for higher education and their future careers.
