About Megan Cistull

Megan is pursuing her JD at the University of Chicago Law School and her MBA at the Booth School of Business. She graduated summa cum laude from the University of California, Berkeley, where she was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa. She earned a B.A. in political science with specializations in international relations and American politics while minoring in human rights. Following her undergraduate studies, she served as a postgraduate research fellow at Berkeley Law’s Center on Comparative Equality & Anti-Discrimination Law.

Megan has an extensive background in legal research and advocacy. She co-authored a chapter in Sexual Harassment and the Law in Africa: Country and Regional Perspectives, published by Routledge, and currently works as a research consultant for the Africa End Sexual Harassment Initiative. She has also chaired many conference panels, such as the 2025 CLE Conference on Gender Discrimination and Harassment Law at Berkeley Law.

Beyond academia, Megan is deeply committed to educational equity and entrepreneurship. She co-founded Technology & Entrepreneurship Ladder, Inc. in Nairobi, Kenya, an organization dedicated to expanding access to entrepreneurial education for students. She believes knowledge empowers individuals to thrive and contribute meaningfully to society. Megan is also the co-founder of Papaya Privacy, a startup focused on empowering users to take control of their digital privacy. Megan is leading the legal and consumer rights aspects of the venture, translating complex privacy laws into user-friendly solutions. Papaya Privacy is currently participating in Booth’s Social New Venture Challenge (SNVC), where Megan is refining the company’s business model and pitching to investors.

Inspired by the transformative power of education in her own life, Megan works to foster agency and create opportunities for young people in law, STEM, and business. She has advised countless students, helping them get into T14 law schools and other top graduate programs.
