Dr. Parnell Hagerman is a Former Admissions Officer with InGenius Prep based in Maine. She has a distinguished career spanning over two decades in elite independent school admissions and leadership. She holds a Doctorate in Psychology and Education from the University of Massachusetts.
Dr. Hagerman served as Associate Director of Admissions at Deerfield Academy for 10 years and as Dean of Admissions at The Hotchkiss School for 11 years. Most recently, she served for five years as Associate Head of School and then as Head of School at the Oldfields School, where she oversaw day-to-day operations and student well-being. Additionally, she was involved with the admissions process at Harvard Business School and served as Vice President of Academic Affairs for ConnectEdu, Inc., an online educational solutions company.
She has provided advice and guidance to thousands of students and has presented over 45 workshops at major educational conferences (SSATB, NAIS, etc.) on topics including demographics, innovative curriculum, and the role of the American Independent School. She also worked with a consulting firm assisting students of Asian descent and those with special extracurricular skills in placement into U.S. colleges and independent schools.
Independent education is a family tradition for Dr. Hagerman; her four daughters attended Hotchkiss, Deerfield, and Brooks, and went on to Dartmouth, Harvard, Middlebury, and Virginia, where they competed at the NCAA and Olympic levels. Her daughters have since joined her in the field, working in boarding school admissions and college placement.
