About Sohun Awsare

Hi! My name is Sohun and I am a fourth year medical student finishing up my M.D degree!

I grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area and completed my undergraduate degree at Cornell University where I majored in Biology with minors in both Spanish and Business.  During my undergraduate courses, I had an interest in healthcare and medicine so utilized my time at Cornell exploring multiple healthcare options. I spent time in several research labs, completed a variety of summer internships in biotechnology, volunteered at hospitals and worked on numerous service organizations so was well prepared to compete the AMCAS application.

Since entering medical school, I’ve worked with diverse students on the primary and secondary applications to alleviate their stress associated with this important aspect of the application process. I truly enjoy working with students to express their individuality and highlight what they want the application review committees to remember about them!

Outside of medical school, I enjoy traveling, reading and running as well as following all Bay Area sports teams (49ers, Giants and Warriors). I look forward to mentoring and coaching students to reach their medical school aspirations!
