Hi! I am a Former Admissions Officer with InGenius Prep, based in Sacramento, CA.
After growing up in Sacramento, I decided I wanted to see another part of the world and chose to attend a small liberal arts school in Worcester, MA, the College of the Holy Cross. I studied English Literature and Philosophy. While I was there I also worked in Admissions giving tours and then interviewing applicants senior year.
After graduating from Holy Cross, I enrolled at Notre Dame to get my Masters in Education while simultaneously teaching middle school literature. This was a great way to put my love for reading and writing to work, helping students become better at both. My favorite part of teaching was helping my students clarify their goals and overcome habits and behaviors that weren’t helping them succeed.
To gain more time working one-on-one with students, I pivoted to working in Undergraduate Admission at USC. I became highly skilled in counseling students and parents about what makes for a competitive college application. Now, I’m hoping to spend my time working full-time in counseling to help students succeed in school and the college admission process.
When I’m not working, I love getting outdoors and going on a hike, preferably at Lake Tahoe. I also like to cook, watch movies, and read.
