Hello! I am a Former Admissions Officer with InGenius Prep, based in Geneva, New York. I received my undergraduate degree from Princeton University where I majored in Psychology and received a certificate in creative writing. Following graduation, I spent two years working for my alma mater, reading thousands of undergraduate applications, conducting interviews, and working with students and their families. Since then, I have taught English at the secondary level, received a master's degree in English and American Literature with a concentration in creative writing from New York University, and then worked as collegiate athletics coach where I recruited hundreds of students to row for me. During this time, I also represented my institution at admissions events and volunteered for Princeton as an alumni interviewer.
I feel lucky that my work experiences include teaching students at all age levels from pre-kindergarten through college. In all of my roles in education, it is my passionate belief in the power of personal transformation that has been my through-line and my favorite reminder for students is "you can't do that...yet." I am known for my ability to coach students to achieve BIG goals and I do so with an empathetic and authentic style. I like to help students create and complete a process that focuses on taking care of details in order to reach their goals. I think the college application process is one of the most exciting times in a student's life and that it does not have to be stressful or full of anxiety.
Outside of work I am an avid rower, downhill skier, and cyclist. I have an innovator's brain and love to build and create--anything from greeting cards to sourdough bread to a fancy dinner to a backyard terrain park rail. I coach a robotics team for middle school students and also developed and direct a program that increases family engagement in our local school district.
