Hello! My name is Codie Kane and I’m very excited to be part of your admissions journey! I have worked with students of all ages over the past 6 years, and I am particularly passionate about helping young people achieve their education and career goals.
I hold a Masters of Education from Harvard Graduate School of Education and a B.A. from Georgetown University. I maintained my connection to Georgetown for many years as an alumni interviewer, getting to know and evaluating high school students from the San Francisco area.
As a former teacher and literacy education researcher, I believe that writing is an important way that students learn about themselves. As a Teach for China Corps member, I helped my students acquire writing skills to develop their voice in the classroom. As a researcher, I helped high school teachers identify effective literacy practices to ensure that their students were prepared for college. Throughout my professional career, I have enjoyed translating my knowledge of powerful writing to help friends, family, and mentees develop college application essays that showcase their talents and have a lasting impact on admissions officers. I have seen how much these essays teach young people about their own strengths and challenges. I’m excited to be a part of InGenius Prep because I can use my expertise to facilitate this process for students and help navigate the college application experience as whole. I look forward to leveraging my experience to allow students to focus on the excitement and growth that comes with applying to college.
In my spare time, I enjoy hiking, backpacking, running, and being outside. I also love reading, writing, and spending time with my friends and family
