Hi! I am a true college enthusiast with 12 years of experience teaching and providing academic and career guidance to students at Columbia University, Swarthmore College and George Washington University. Helping students to identify and accomplish their goals– and to grow their skills and character in the process– is a lifelong passion of mine. My excitement about higher education began with my own academic journey. I had an awesome undergraduate experience at Swarthmore College, which was my first choice and a wonderful fit for me. It was a great springboard into my graduate studies, which I began as soon as I graduated with my BA. I entered the PhD program in Cultural Anthropology at Columbia University, where I earned MA and MPhil degrees during the course of my studies. While there, I was a Faculty and Teaching Fellow for several fascinating courses. Wanting to focus on working more extensively with students, I went on to become a Professional Academic Advisor at George Washington University, where I provided one-on-one counseling for hundreds of diverse students with over 40 majors, from their freshman year to graduation. I LOVED that experience and have learned so much about college student success over the years. I’m excited to use this knowledge and experience to help you achieve your higher education goals, too!
I’m also an ardent lover of fiction and good writing– I just can’t get enough of a good story in any medium, my kitchen experiments are the stuff of (strangely appetizing) legend and in my free time I most enjoy gathering and playing with my family, good friends and community.
