Hi, I’m Olivia! I am a former writing instructor at the University of Iowa, where I received my M.F.A. from the Iowa Writers’ Workshop. There I taught speaking and writing courses in the Rhetoric Department and served as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Health and Human Physiology. During my time in graduate school, I also worked as a teaching assistant in the professional development program for new instructors, where I helped build teaching skills and contributed to curriculum development.
Before moving to Iowa City, I attended Washington University in St. Louis and worked as a teaching assistant for the St. Louis Poetry center. I graduated from Washington University in 2012 with a B.A. in Biology and played varsity softball at the university for four years.
Having majored in Biology as an undergraduate, and going to work in Higher Education, Marketing, and Business, I am passionate about helping students discover their potential and follow their dreams. I especially enjoy working with students on their writing, to help them express their thoughts and ideas clearly and effectively in the written form. In my spare time, I love cooking and exploring new food, going to the movies, and seeing concerts.
