Hi! My name is Samantha Shepard-Guerinoni, and I am currently a Former Admissions Officer at InGenius Prep. Formerly, I worked in the Admissions Office at Stanford University and as Assistant Director of Admissions at Simmons College. I was also a Ph.D. student in an interdisciplinary program of History and Sociology at Tulane University.
I graduated from Stanford University with a Bachelor’s degree in History in 2006 and from the University of Pennsylvania with a Master of Science in Education degree in 2010. My experiences as a pole vault competitor on Stanford’s Track and Field Team and in undergraduate and graduate admissions have fostered my professional interests in academic advising, teaching, and higher educational administration. Helping students achieve their dreams is one of my deepest passions.
My research interests include African American and United States 20th-century history and sociology—more specifically, that of black male collegiate athletes and their relationship to the challenges presented by Division I-A athletics in higher education and to issues of access, choice, and achievement for these student-athletes. My free time goes to family and friends, my German Shepherd dog, eating different cuisines, reading, and sometimes oil painting.
