I am a former Associate Director of Admissions at New York University. At NYU I gave presentations, met one-on-one with prospective students, and ultimately made decisions of admittance to our graduate as well as undergraduate programs.
My career in higher education began with a graduate assistantship in the graduate admissions office at Montclair State University, where I was pursuing my graduate degree in Counseling, Human Services, and Guidance. My position there afforded me the opportunity to work closely with students, ultimately leading to a role as liaison to the International Student Organization.
I dedicated 15 years to student services, working in admissions, academics, and financial aid. These years were incredibly rewarding because I had the opportunity to work closely with hundreds of motivated and enthusiastic students. Through academic advising and counseling, I took great pleasure in contributing to their growth, and witness their educational dreams become a reality.
As a professional bassist and singer in Austin Texas for many years, I know what it’s like to balance my passion in music with other commitments. I have also advised younger musician on their own pursuit of music while also focusing on their academic achievements.
And I am now so excited to help more students, musicians or otherwise, as a part of the InGenius Prep team!
