Hi! I’m Jenny Deren, a Former Admissions Officer and Graduate Coach based in Central Massachusetts. After graduating summa cum laude from Dartmouth College with an A.B. in English, I completed a Ph.D. in English from Tufts University. I have ten years of experience teaching college-level writing and literature at Tufts, Providence College, and the College of the Holy Cross.

As an Admissions Reader at Williams College, I read hundreds of college applications, gaining insight into the admissions process and the characteristics of clear, compelling applications. I am thrilled to combine my skills as a writing instructor with my admissions experience to help students identify and articulate their passions, craft engaging profiles, and prepare for their collegiate futures. My favorite part of teaching has always been working one-on-one with my students to articulate their ideas, hone their writing skills, and explore their academic interests. I am excited to continue offering students individualized help with InGenius Prep.

When I'm not teaching and learning from my students, I enjoy reading novels, baking delicious treats, and hanging out with my husband, my two preschool-age children, and my yellow Labrador retriever, Cassie.
