The NCAA Division I consists of over 350 schools and 6,000 teams within these colleges. Sports conferences such as the SEC, Big 10, Pac 12, and ACC are composed of Division I schools. While the Ivy League schools are part of Division 1, they don’t offer athletic scholarships to students. Scholarships and enrollment are not only based on athletic abilities, but also on students’ academic performance. Due to COVID-19, the NCAA is looking only at students’ GPA for the 2020-21 recruiting season.
