The InGenius Prep Leadership & Innovation Lab (LIL) is a selective opportunity for 9th-12th grade students to develop powerful leadership and entrepreneurial skills and add impressive signature projects to their resumés. Your student will graduate from LIL as an accomplished leader with an increased chance of getting accepted by top-ranked universities.
When applying to top schools, most students have perfect grades, excellent test scores, and competitive extracurriculars. The InGenius Prep Leadership & Innovation Lab (LIL) provides driven high school students the unique opportunity to stand out from other impressive applicants by helping them develop impressive signature projects, which later act as the centerpieces of their applications.
Launching a successful initiative requires vision, creativity, project management skills, and hard work — all necessities for aspiring leaders and all qualities that are valued in competitive school admissions. The InGenius Leadership & Innovation Lab (LIL) is a selective, highly experiential opportunity for students to develop and implement these skills.
With close guidance from our seasoned instructors, students will work in a small group format to launch a business, organization, or initiative of their own. Students will graduate from the LIL as leaders and entrepreneurs, ready to make an impact on their communities, and more likely to get into top schools.

Maya Gobert is our Director of Student Innovation. Maya attended Cornell University on a full expenses paid scholarship where she double majored in Economics and Political Science and graduated with top honors. Maya has worked across three continents and industries – finance, marketing and educational consulting. Maya has led a team of consultants and worked personally with students across the world , mentoring them in candidacy building and extracurricular pursuits. Her students have gained admission into all the Ivy League colleges and many other Top 20 US universities.
Raised $40,000 to design, build, and launch a fitness app. This student hired a team, worked with graphic designers, and launched a successful fundraising campaign.
Developed a new coffee cup sleeve made exclusively from recyclable and plantable materials (it even had seeds!). With new marketing and business development skills, he built a website and partnered with local coffee shops.
Worked with artists from 15 high schools across the country to curate online art exhibits. This student auctioned 100+ art pieces and raised proceeds to donate to disease relief.
Created a peer counseling platform to help students deal with stress and mental health issues. This student hired 9 peers, officially registered his company, and launched a website.
Sold locally-sourced, Chinese-manufactured goods to international customers. This student used improved marketing and sales skills to bring in $1,000 in revenue in a single week.
Improved existing non-profit — developing curriculum, recruitment, and marketing techniques to expand his organization’s reach. Now, this student leads a network of peer instructors who teach free classes to a growing group of young CS learners.
Recruited 2 peer history fanatics to develop an education and advocacy organization. Together, they created nonpartisan online content and visited classrooms to teach students how they can become more civically informed and engaged.
Through the Leadership and Innovation Lab, InGenius Prep students gain access to a vast, existing network of students and extracurricular opportunities. With over 1,000 active students around the world, we connect like minded students to help them join forces, expand their reach, and ultimately, make a greater impact. InGenius Prep students use our network to grow their own initiatives or to join existing extracurricular opportunities created by current InGenius Prep students and alumni.
LVF Is the only venture fund in existence dedicated to funding high-school level student projects and organizations. LIL Venture Fund offers up to $10,000 of funding annually to promising student projects and organizations developed through the InGenius Leadership & Innovation Lab.

The Leadership & Innovation Lab organizes the biannual IdeAction Global Pitch Competition, offering students a competitive platform to receive accreditation for their project, initiative ideas and execution.
