Rema Shah is a Graduate Coach with InGenius Prep based in Connecticut. Rema currently serves as an Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery Resident Physician at Yale and is an experienced member of the Yale Admissions Committee. She received her BS in Neuroscience with a minor in Chemistry from Duke University and completed her MD at Yale School of Medicine. With experience in the medical field and the college admissions process, Rema brings her extensive background to her counseling role to help students create the best applications for university.
During her time at Yale, Rema was a member of the Yale School of Medicine Admissions Committee, where she served as an interviewer and evaluator for prospective MD applicants. She has also been involved in mentorship at the undergraduate and graduate education levels—involved in leadership positions at Duke University Emergency Medical Services, HAVEN Free Clinic, Yale Patient Navigator Program, and the Association of Women Surgeons chapter. Throughout her education, Rema has also been extensively involved in clinical and translational research and has over 20 publications in internationally-regarded peer-reviewed scientific research journals.
As a Graduate Coach, Rema’s close proximity to the admissions process has allowed her to successfully advise and mentor students from a variety of backgrounds in their pursuit of medical education. She is highly skilled in personalizing each student’s sessions and providing writing, editing, interviewing, or candidacy-building support at any stage of their application journey. With her guidance, students will be able to set their own goals and confidently navigate the admissions process for their dream schools.
