Kndeya Gebrawahed was such a responsive, knowledgeable counselor. He helped me with everything in my college admissions process from picking schools to apply to to brainstorming ideas for my personal statement to revising my activities list. I don't think I would have survived this process without him. My IG counselors were awesome! Couldn’t have gotten into my dream school early without them. I joined IG in late 11th grade, and my counselors were able to take what scraps I had when I first joined and guide me into creating a proper, packaged profile. What they helped most in were my essays. Although I consider myself a good writer given my humanities background, it takes me time—a lot of time—to get my work to a place I’d consider good, especially so when the writing in question is introspective. My counselors were extremely helpful in speeding up the process, working with me to really dissect my life and dig up the interesting, worthy parts to be written into essays. And throughout my drafting rounds, my counselors tore up and stitched together my essays over and over, catching unsavory details to cut and identifying promising leads to expand on. I also felt fully supported every step of the way. Would totally recommend!

I initially learned about InGenius Prep through their webinars and found them to be very knowledgeable in the college admissions process. I talked with Kristen Flanagan, their assistant managing director several times before committing to their college advising service. Kristen was very patient and knowledgeable with my questions. The advantage of InGenius over other college admissions services is that your student will have a team to support and encourage them throughout the process from selecting a list of schools that match their strengths and interests to keeping them on track with their essays and application deadlines. Abby and Kimberly were not only knowledgeable, but incredibly kind and patient. The amount of work that is required for college applications can be overwhelming during senior year and they helped our student stay on track with the entire process without my having to be involved much, and I can be the parent who cheers them on and not have to bug them constantly about getting their essays written:) I’m happy to share that our student was accepted into their dream Ivy League school and is absolutely ecstatic! We literally just got the news that my daughter was accepted ED to UChicago!!! I still can’t believe I’m typing this. I cried. We all cried. She has been dreaming about UChicago for years. A huge part of this was working with InGenius’s UChicago former admissions officer, who gave us sooo much insider insight into what the admissions office actually cares about. They helped my daughter pick programs that really matched what she's into, and also kinda helped us avoid some of the super crowded or crazy competitive ones. Her GC (who has a BA in History from Yale) helped her a ton with the essays, and the final personal statement actually sounded like her, just way more clear and put together. And honestly, the biggest thing was the academic mentorship. She got to work with a Georgia Tech professor and ended up with a legit research paper. We were told Uchicago really cares about real academic depth, and having that kind of serious research experience made a huge difference for her application. We’re just so so grateful to the whole InGenius team. This whole process has been such an emotional rollercoaster for our family, and seeing her get into her dream school means everything to us.
