Working with my team at InGenius Prep, Zach Sweeney (Graduate Coach), Wes Mills (FAO), and Zak Harris, has been one of the most impactful parts of my entire college application journey. Their guidance, honesty, and belief in what I’m building with Black Boys Fence pushed me to think bigger, write with more intention, and trust my own voice. That level of mentorship made all the difference.
InGenius Prep excels at pairing students with coaches who genuinely invest in their growth. My team didn’t just edit my essays, they helped me understand how to tell my story with clarity and purpose. They challenged me when I needed it, supported me through stressful moments, and consistently showed up with thoughtful, actionable feedback. That combination of high expectations and real care is rare, and it’s what made my experience great.
As I look ahead to Columbia, I’m still processing everything, but I couldn’t be happier. I’m excited for the rigorous learning environment, the chance to grow, and the opportunity to keep expanding the mission we talked about so much. The advice I received about saying “yes” to opportunities and staying grounded in where I come from is something I’ll carry with me.
Overall, InGenius Prep is doing an exceptional job at providing personalized, mission‑aligned mentorship that helps students find their voice and navigate an overwhelming process with confidence. I’m deeply grateful for the support, and I’m proud of the work we did together.
