Hello! I am a Graduate Coach with InGenius Prep, and I am a consummate explorer. A native Midwesterner, I sought out nationally recognized schools for my own college experience. On that journey, I was blessed to graduate with a BA from the University of Notre Dame and, later, an MFA in writing from Columbia University in New York, where I also taught undergraduate writing classes for several years. I’m currently taking courses toward a certificate in educational consulting from the University of California-Irvine.
My career in writing and teaching has also taken me from the publishing world in South Africa to teaching and writing in the USA, Canada, Israel, Nigeria, the UAE, and India. As an instructor, I have worked at a variety of institutions, both brick-and-mortar universities and virtual colleges, and with a multitude of individuals. I’ve mentored Ivy League first-year students as they developed their first research projects and guided undergraduate and graduate students from Canada, India, Nigeria, and China as they navigated personal essays, narratives, grant applications, senior theses, team reports, and dissertations. I have a keen sense of audience, and, most importantly, have developed a solid knowledge of learning styles. Having also taught workshops on completing long-term projects, I love to help students, often for the first time, learn how to make goals, plan and manage their time, and enjoy the college and university
application process.
My lust for exploration comes with a deep appreciation for the uniqueness of individuals. I have a passion for stories, and my vocation lies in helping people tell theirs.
