Argent Martinez Brito is a Graduate Coach at InGenius Prep, a multidisciplinary artist, and an educator. She earned her BA with Honors in Literary Arts from Brown University, which she attended on a full-ride merit scholarship as a QuestBridge Scholar, and is now an MFA candidate in Creative Writing at Arizona State University. Her practice bridges rigorous research and the intimacy of the lyric essay.
Her creative work has been supported by more than $15,000 in grants and fellowships, including a CantoMundo Fellowship, the Frances Mason Harris ’26 Prize, the Kim Ann Arstark Memorial Award, a Virginia G. Piper Center scholarship, and a Mellon Mays Undergraduate Fellowship. She was also a Nationally Competitive Debater and Northwestern Debate Institute Chicago Scholar, and she teaches writing as an Instructor of Record at Arizona State and in a creative writing program at the Arizona State Prison Complex.
As a Graduate Coach, Argent believes a college admissions essay should, above all, make a strong argument for why no other student could be there besides you. She works with students to craft poignant, effective application profiles that underscore their uniqueness, and she finds that initiative especially central for engineering, medical school, and STEM applicants.
