Christopher Anisi is a Former Admissions Officer at the Keck School of Medicine of USC, where he served on the Admissions Committee reviewing applications and interviewing prospective students. He is now a fourth-year medical student at Keck, applying to neurology residency this cycle, with clinical training across the LA County hospital system, including LA General and Harbor-UCLA.
Chris reviewed applications from the first read of a primary application through the final interview impression, giving him direct insight into how committees evaluate candidates. He has since mentored students as a peer counselor at both Keck and UCLA and through the BRAVO program for high school students from underrepresented communities, guiding applicants to acceptances at USC, UCSF, UCLA, and UCSD.
Chris built a deep STEM research background before medical school, including DDX3X genetics work at UCSF, spinal cord injury biomaterials research, molecular splicing research through HHMI, EEG neuroscience at Pomona College, and a UCLA-Caltech MD-PhD summer fellowship; he currently conducts neuroimmunology and health disparities research at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. A UCLA graduate himself, he’s known for direct, honest feedback and helps students build a clear, authentic story around why they want to pursue medicine.
