David L. Marcus is a Graduate Coach with InGenius Prep. He is a seasoned writer, educator, and advisor with a distinguished career that spans journalism, authorship, and education. He is a Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist who traveled the world as a news reporter, earning the highest award in journalism for his international reporting.
David is also an accomplished author, having written books on both college admissions and the challenges faced by struggling teens. His works include “Acceptance” (Penguin Press), which provides insights into the college admissions process, and “What It Takes to Pull Me Through” (Houghton Mifflin).
His work has appeared in prominent publications such as the New York Times, Vanity Fair magazine, and Newsweek, and he covered education for U.S. News magazine, known for its Best Colleges rankings. David’s educational background includes a BA with honors from Brown University, where he was elected senior class president, and a Nieman Fellowship at Harvard University. He also studied at Universidad de Los Andes in Bogotá. He has lived in four countries (Mexico, Colombia, Brazil, and the U.S.) and traveled to 50 countries.
