Greetings and salutations! I am a Former Admissions Officer with InGenius Prep, based in Providence, Rhode Island. I earned my Bachelor of Arts degree from Brown University with a dual concentration in History and Biomedical Ethics. After working for a large law firm in Washington DC for a year, I attended Cornell Law School graduating with a Juris Doctor in Public Law. Following my graduation from law school, I served in the United States Navy as a Judge Advocate for three years on active duty while stationed in Great Lakes, Illinois and Newport, Rhode Island. Following my military service, I worked as an attorney for the U.S. Immigration & Naturalization Service. Thereafter, I practiced immigration law for over 10 years.
After a long legal career, I transitioned into higher education with the goal of helping undergraduate students find engaging internships and post-graduation positions and assisting them with applications to top graduate and law schools. While at Northeastern I worked as the Pre-Law Adviser guiding hundreds of undergraduates through the challenging law school application process. In addition, I taught many international students in a professionalism and career readiness course designed to prepare them for working in the United States. Following my work at the illustrious Northeastern University career office, I had the privilege of working at Suffolk University Law School, one of the largest law schools in the country with over 80,000 alumni worldwide. From there I ran a program for student veterans at the University of Massachusetts Boston, helping students prepare and gain admittance to regional colleges. Having found my niche in providing one on one advising to students, I returned to my Alma Mater to work as an Admission Specialist for the Brown University admission office. I also worked for a private international admission counseling group before joining the InGenius Prep team.
Outside of work, I spend time with my three kids. The oldest is a Shark Biologist in California; my daughter is manager for an international hotel chain in a resort community; and my younger son is a film student at a top New York university. I often spend weekends exploring the low country of South Carolina and Georgia, traveling the southeast coastline and finding unique dinning venues. A lifelong baseball (Red Sox!) fan and native of Massachusetts, I have brought the special New England vibes to my new home.
