Deborah Omolegan-Obe is a Graduate Coach with InGenius Prep who brings a rare combination of elite dual-country credentials and direct, sustained admissions coaching experience across both the UK and US systems. She holds a BA with Honours in Law from the University of Cambridge and an Ed.M. in Education Policy and Analysis from Harvard University, and has spent several years working directly with high school students on personal statements, college and career readiness, and applications to the most competitive institutions in the world. Her students have been accepted to Cambridge and Harvard, and her approach is grounded in the firsthand experience of having navigated both systems herself as a student and as a mentor.
Deborah’s mentoring and teaching work is extensive and hands-on. As Young Women’s Mentoring Program Lead and Public Schools Partnerships Intern with the Harvard Ed Portal, she designed and delivered a college and career readiness mentoring program for high school young women across the Boston Public Schools district, running individual and small group advising sessions focused on academic achievement, social-emotional learning, and goal setting. As a tutor with QED Education Group, she developed a 13-month one-to-one tutoring and curriculum plan that was approved and implemented by SPGS International School. Earlier, as a Cambridge University student ambassador, she delivered higher education presentations to students from underrepresented backgrounds across the UK, assisted with personal statement preparation, and helped organize residential programs at Cambridge, reaching over 70 high school students through the Pedagog Education Organization alone.
Her research and policy work spans two continents. As a Research Assistant at the University of Cambridge’s Centre for Teaching and Learning, she investigated factors contributing to differential degree outcomes for Black British Law undergraduates, work that has since informed how Cambridge approaches its law curriculum. At Harvard, she advised the University of Nepal School of Public Policy on the design of their graduate master’s program, presenting findings at the Harvard Reimagining Global Education Conference and contributing to the published volume “Learning Education Policy in Practice.” She has also evaluated the Boston Children’s Hospital Digital Wellness Lab’s research communications on digital media and child wellbeing, and developed an educator-facing toolkit for the Coalition for Juvenile Justice on supporting students involved in the juvenile justice system. At Essex County Council, her policy recommendations on equality and diversity were adopted by Senior Management, and she led a Cabinet Office-partnered project to develop a graduate program that was subsequently approved and implemented.
Deborah is also a proven legal competitor. She won two Cambridge mooting competitions in 2023, including the Jesus v. Magdalene competition judged by Paul Mitchell KC of 4 New Square Chambers, and the Jesus College Mooting Competition judged by Mr. Justice Dexter Dias. She completed a three-week vacation scheme with Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer, one of the world’s leading global commercial law firms. As a Graduate Coach, she specializes in helping students applying to law, education, and social sciences programs develop the critical thinking, precise argumentation, and authentic personal voice that competitive admissions readers respond to.
