Edwina A. Brown is a Former Admissions Officer with InGenius Prep who holds a Master’s degree in Psychology from Harvard University and two Bachelor of Science degrees, in Management and in Marketing, from Johnson & Wales University. She spent 19 years at the Harvard Kennedy School, rising from Financial Aid Officer to Director of Student Financial Services, and served as a member of the school’s Admissions Committee, reading and ranking applications each cycle.
As a member of the Admissions Committee, Edwina evaluated and ranked hundreds of applications each cycle against mission-aligned criteria, and she was specially appointed as an Essay Consultant for the Gates Millennium Scholars Program, where she evaluated and strengthened applicant essays against rigorous national selection criteria. Since 2008, as founder of EAVisions, she has guided students in developing essays and application materials and built college financial plans that have helped identify more than $120 million in scholarship and grant opportunities.
As a Former Admissions Officer, Edwina brings an evaluator’s eye to every file, having read applications from the other side of the desk at Harvard, paired with a strategist’s focus on building a plan families can actually afford. She is known for combining rigorous evaluation with genuine care for the student behind the file, and for guiding students from every background and country toward a college they can both get into and afford. Her leadership was recognized with a Harvard Leadership Fellowship, selected from a pool of more than 7,500 senior leaders, and the Dean’s Award for Excellence.
