Elliott Eglash is a Graduate Coach and writing specialist with over a decade of experience in teaching the craft of the personal narrative. A summa cum laude graduate of Princeton University, Elliott was awarded the English department’s annual prize for the best-written senior thesis. He further refined his expertise at Columbia University, where he earned his MFA in nonfiction writing on a departmental scholarship and led his own writing seminars.
Elliott’s admissions expertise is uniquely informed by his time as an in-house coach and essay tutor within Columbia’s pre-med advising department. This role gave him deep insight into the specific demands of highly competitive STEM and professional school applications, where clarity and “human” storytelling are essential. His professional track record includes successfully guiding students into the most selective institutions in the world, including Yale, Stanford, Princeton, and Brown.
As a Graduate Coach, Elliott is a proponent of “authentic voice,” believing that the most successful applications come from students who have the confidence to express their honest selves on the page. He brings a mix of technical rigor, enthusiasm for language, and a sense of humor to every session, helping students not only achieve their admissions goals but also become fundamentally stronger writers.
