Gia George-Burgher is a graduate of Yale University, where she earned a dual degree in History of Science, Medicine, & Public Health and Theatre, Dance, & Performance Studies while on the pre-med track.
Gia’s passion for mentorship began before college, when she worked with elementary school girls across the Tristate area, introducing them to STEM and the arts through hands-on programming beyond what they could access through their school curricula. At Yale, she continued that work as a First-Year Orientation Counselor for three years, helping incoming students navigate course selection, campus resources, extracurricular involvement, and building a sense of community.
As a GrayNYC Scholar selected during her first year, she also received holistic coaching and career development support that shaped her own approach to mentorship and continues to prepare her for a future in the health field. Gia wants every student to feel supported and empowered as they begin shaping their own college experience, and she’s excited to help students navigate the process with greater confidence, make higher education feel less intimidating, and take meaningful steps toward their future.
