Jessica Cubas is a Former Admissions Officer with InGenius Prep, based in Japan. She spent four years at Columbia University as Assistant Director of Undergraduate Research & Fellowships, advising undergraduates through highly competitive fellowship processes, including Fulbright, Rhodes, and Gates-Cambridge Scholarships. She also reviewed Columbia College undergraduate applications with colleagues in Academic Affairs.
Since leaving Columbia, Jessica has taught English at the university level in Japan and at the elementary/secondary level in South Korea, deepening her interest in mentorship through direct classroom work with students of different ages and cultures. Students often say they feel comfortable around her right away, which she attributes to genuine curiosity about the people she works with.
Jessica brings that same warmth and curiosity to her work with students, aiming to make them feel genuinely heard while giving them the honest, structured guidance they need to put their best selves forward. As a Former Admissions Officer, her international teaching background and experience reviewing competitive applications give her a well-rounded perspective on authentic self-presentation.
