Kavita Lee is a Graduate Coach with InGenius Prep based in the San Francisco Bay Area. A Wharton MBA, Rice-trained engineer, executive coach, poet, and dancer, she brings over fourteen years of experience guiding high-potential people through pivotal education and career decisions — across undergraduate, MBA, and graduate admissions. She approaches every applicant with both the rigor of a strategy consultant and the instincts of a writer.
Kavita’s admissions work spans three distinct populations and over a decade of consistent practice. As an MBA Application Coach for Deloitte colleagues since 2015, she has reviewed essays, run mock interviews, and advised on school selection, recommender strategy, and positioning for consultants applying to top programs. She has simultaneously supported friends and family applying to Rice and peer institutions, guiding them through Common App essays, supplements, activity lists, and interview prep. Earlier in her career, she volunteered with the Partnership for the Advancement and Immersion of Refugees (PAIR), working directly with refugee high schoolers in Houston on essay drafting, school research, financial aid, and the full Common App process — a commitment that reflects the depth and breadth of her dedication to this work.
Kavita has built a distinguished career as an operator and executive coach. She coaches leaders at Series A/B startups on management, executive presence, and career strategy, and has held senior operations and strategy roles at organizations including Activate Global, Propper Daley, Ginkgo Bioworks, and Deloitte. These experiences have sharpened her ability to diagnose what is blocking a person, push back on weak reasoning, and help them leave every conversation with concrete next steps — the same instincts that make her effective with applicants navigating high-stakes admissions decisions.
As a Graduate Coach, Kavita brings a flexible, adaptable approach grounded in a core belief that the best applications come from genuine self-understanding. A poet and strong writer herself, she is sharp on essays and especially skilled at helping applicants surface what makes them distinctive.
