Hello! I am a Former Admission Officer with InGenius Prep, based in Karachi, Pakistan. After growing up in Pakistan till the age of 19, I moved to the USA for my college education. I completed my Bachelor of Science degree from Allegheny College in Economics with minors in Mathematics, Computer Science and Religion. I also was very lucky to have spent eighteen amazing months of my undergraduate years at Reed College. After working in New York as a management professional, I pursued my MBA as a Graduate Fellow at The American University in Washington DC with a concentration in Marketing and Market Research. I returned to the corporate world as a management consultant but, while I was very successful in this arena, I always wanted to return to the educational environment.
I then joined Georgetown University as Director of Research Services and was subsequently appointed Associate Director of Admissions. Dean Charles Deacon is a legend in the college admissions world and it was a privilege to learn from him as I developed my own skills. I chaired the School of Business committee for first year admissions as well as the Transfer committees for all five colleges at Georgetown. My team was responsible for admissions from the state of New York, with a primary focus on Long Island. However, I was fortunate enough to also travel to many other states to visit high schools and hold events for prospective students, parents and high school counselors. Much of this travel was part of a joint venture with my colleagues from Harvard, Duke and Penn. After leaving Georgetown, I became the Director of Admissions at the Corcoran School of Art before returning to Pakistan after over two decades in the USA. Since then, I had been the Principal and Head of College Counseling for an A Level college called Southshore until recently, and now serve as Principal of Cedar College (PECHS) in Karachi, Pakistan. I have thoroughly enjoyed the privilege of working with young people for over 30 years.
Leaving the corporate world was an easy decision because of my passion for education and working with young people. Georgetown allowed me to develop my skills as a counselor and gave me the chance to work with many talented young students as they pursued their dream education. As an avid sportsman in my younger years, I became very involved with Georgetown sports, often travelling to away games with the football team or spending time on campus with our student athletes and coaches. It was also my privilege to work closely with students who were Georgetown Admissions Ambassadors and the illustrious alumni who were a part of the Alumni Admissions Programme. At Southshore, I have the opportunity to work with students who are applying all over the world for their undergraduate education. I have helped students with their admissions to the USA, UK, Canada, Australia, Malaysia, Turkey, UAE, Pakistan, several European countries and more. It has been really exciting to work with such a diverse group of student university choices. I hope that these experiences will allow me to help many more young people achieve their dream of going to the undergraduate institution that best matches their goals.
I love to travel and have been fortunate enough to follow that passion to many states in the USA, Canada, Thailand, Singapore, Dubai, London and more. Reading has been one of my greatest passions since I was very young and I devour mysteries voraciously. Karachi has an amazing selection of diverse restaurants and our family is always trying new things as we all love good food. As the father of two young boys, I enjoy spending time with them, exploring the world through their eyes!
