Rema Shah is a Former Admissions Officer with InGenius Prep based in Connecticut. With a wealth of experience from her time on the Yale School of Medicine Admissions Committee, Rema brings insight and expertise to her role in counseling students. Rema earned her BS in Neuroscience with a minor in Chemistry from Duke University before obtaining her MD from Yale, where she served as an interviewer and evaluator for MD applicants. Rema now uses her industry knowledge to help students navigate the college admissions process.
Throughout her academic journey, Rema has been actively involved in mentoring students at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. Her leadership roles in organizations such as Duke University Emergency Medical Services and the Association of Women Surgeons have given her a personalized approach to counseling that she employs with each of her mentees. Her close proximity to the admissions process has allowed her to successfully advise and mentor students from a variety of backgrounds in their pursuit of medical education.
Rema’s writing experience, coupled with her background in the admissions office and her work with students, provides her with the unique skills to guide students through college admissions with purpose and confidence. She is highly skilled in personalizing each student’s sessions to provide writing, editing, interviewing, or candidacy-building support at any stage of their application journey. With her support, students will be able to fully optimize their college applications and have the best chance at acceptance to their top-choice school.
