Dr. Scott Gill-Jacobson is a Former Admissions Officer with InGenius Prep based in Orlando, FL. As a professional with over a decade of experience in Education, Scott brings professional insight and wisdom to his role as a Former Admissions Officer. Scott received a BA in History from Florida Southern College and an MEd in Higher Education and Student Affairs from Ohio University before completing an EdD in educational leadership and innovation at St. Thomas University. Now, after serving many roles in admissions and coordination for the top US universities, Scott brings his passion for education and industry expertise to his role as—guiding students and their families through the admissions processes of the elite US schools.
Scott began his career working in housing at Ohio University in a residence hall that housed students in the TOEFL program before moving to Kenyon College. While at Kenyon, Scott worked as the Assistant Director of Residence Life, a role that required him to be a liaison to the admissions office. Scott later moved back to Florida to work in student conduct and Title IX compliance at his alma mater, Florida Southern College. Most recently, he served as a first-year admissions reader at the historic University of California Berkeley, while finishing his doctorate. In these roles, Scott has obtained comprehensive knowledge of the admissions processes at the top US schools and now works to bring that knowledge to his students for their college applications.
Scott believes it is his responsibility as a Former Admissions Officer to help applicants best position themselves for success in what can sometimes be an arduous process. His attitude is to approach the work with enthusiasm and determination; just because this process can be stressful doesn’t mean it can’t be exciting and fun. With his insight and experience, Scott is determined to help his students find the best fit for their education and career prospects—guiding them through every step of the admissions process so they can apply to their dream schools with confidence. It is Scott’s goal to help students reach their full potential and ensure their success in college and beyond.
