Dr. Sergio is a Resident Physician and Research Fellow in the Surgery Department at the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota. Previously, he was an Educational Council member at MIT’s Undergraduate Admissions Office and an Academic Committee Graduate School Representative at Trinity College at the University of Oxford. He received his MBA from Oxford and his MD at the Baylor College of Medicine, where he was a Trinity Fellow. At Baylor, he was a student coordinator of the Global Health track and served on the Student Council as Treasurer. In Addition, he served on the Admissions Committee, helping to shape the next class of future physicians. Before graduate school, he specialized in risk analytics in the Finance Division at Goldman Sachs. He double-majored at MIT in Mechanical Engineering and History, and played varsity lacrosse.
Dr. Sergio loves teaching and helping prospective students achieve their goals! He has taught classes on topics ranging from the business of medicine to the art of lacrosse and the strategy of innovation in global health. As an admissions coach, he has helped multiple students get into Ivy League schools as well as put together successful applications.
