Hello! I am a Graduate Coach with InGenius Prep. I have a PhD in Bioengineering at the University of California, San Diego and I will graduate soon in this June. I earned my bachelor’s degree in Biotechnology at UCSD as well. Since undergraduate, I have had more than six years’ research experience in medical imaging and deep learning with high-impact publications and award-winning technical innovations. I also had a successful industry internship experience at the United Imaging Healthcare, leading the development of the first 4D fluoroscopy imaging system in the company. I am going to continue my research in medical imaging as a Post-doctoral Research Fellow at the Harvard Medical School and Massachusetts General Hospital from this August.
I am passionate about teaching, mentoring and helping the young! I have accumulated substantial mentoring experience these years. I have served as the teaching assistant for four different courses, tutoring over 200 students for each course. I have received excellent evaluations from all instructors I’ve worked with. I have also mentored two senior project research teams (in total 10 undergraduate students) with final grades A and A+ for all team members. For graduate application, I have mentored my friends on their personal statements and resumes, and they got the final offers from top universities such as Princeton, Stanford, and UCB. I firmly believe that no matter in research or in applications, the key thing is to successfully “sell” yourself and your work. I’ll teach you all useful strategies and mindsets and help you submit the best application that you possibly can.
Outside of work, I have countless hobbies such as board games, golf and cooking. I am very outgoing and easy to forge collaborations with others. My theory is that your technical skills make you qualified for a position, and your soft skills make you stand out. I’m hoping that with my guidance and help, all my students can shine in their applications.
