Hi there! I am a Former Admissions Officer with InGenius Prep, based in Rochester, NY. I have a B.S. from Syracuse University in Political Science and spent my days in college as a Division I swimmer on scholarship. After college I went directly to graduate school and obtained a Master’s Degree in Higher Education Leadership while working as a swim coach at the University of Rochester and Rutgers University. After three years of coaching, I returned to the University of Rochester to work in the Office of Admissions and Financial Aid for 10 years. In addition to reading thousands of undergraduate applications and running the University’s Scholarship programs, I also earned my Doctorate of Higher Education, which focused on the college decision-making process and re-negotiating existing college choice models.
While working for the University of Rochester, I had the privilege of helping countless students get to college through various programs, including the University’s flagship combined BA/S+MD program, REMS, which I ran for five years. In addition to REMS, I also was the program manager for four of our combined-admissions programs (Engineering, Business, Education, Nursing) which included the selection processes. I also worked on the team who selected the University’s full-tuition scholarship recipients. Along with a focus on selecting high-achieving students for the University, I also read and decided on the applications of students from all 50 states and numerous countries from around the world.
In my career, I have always relished the ability to motivate and advise students (and athletes) to achieve their best through hard work and guidance. I believe that every student can find the college that is right for them, and even more exciting, that they can find the perfect program of study with the right research. I look forward to using my experiences in coaching, admissions, and education to help all types of students find a college match uniquely tailored to them.
When I’m not talking about college, you will find me skiing or swimming with my two daughters and husband who are the light of my life. I also use my free time to decorate, cook, and volunteer at my kids’ elementary school as the president of the PTA.
