Xavier du Maine is a Graduate Coach with InGenius Prep. He holds a B.A. in Biology and French Language and Literature from Columbia University and a Ph.D. in Biological and Biomedical Sciences from Harvard University. His doctoral research focused on the molecular and cellular mechanisms governing the maintenance of the blood-brain barrier.
During his time at Harvard, Xavier gained extensive experience in higher education administration and mentorship. He served as Assistant Director of Culture, Community, and Engagement at the Harvard Kenneth C. Griffin Graduate School of Arts and Sciences and as Co-Director of the Summer Honors Undergraduate Research Program at Harvard Medical School. In these roles, he advised, trained, and supported hundreds of prospective applicants on preparing strong applications, with his mentees successfully entering some of the top programs and schools nationwide.
Xavier’s mentorship approach is informed by his firsthand experience navigating the “hidden curriculum” of graduate admissions, his knowledge of effective mentorship competencies, and unique insights gained from graduate admissions committee meetings. As a Graduate Coach, he brings warmth, professionalism, and enthusiasm to his tailored strategies, helping students identify and achieve their goals.
